Seize the Day

Flannel: Forever 21 // Similar Flannel
Ever made plans, then later found out that you're missing the one thing that can actually help you go through with those plans? Well, that's pretty much how Thursday went. Every summer, Good Morning America has this concert series called "Summer Stage" that allow people to see their favorite artists for free. I was so excited! Ed Sheeran was scheduled to be there the following morning. I had everything planned out. My friend and I were going to go to the place earlier. We were going to wait there until we were able to get in. Then we'd enjoy the show. That never happened. We were missing the key ingredient to actually having a good time. A ticket. GMA had later released information about the show. Anyone who attends needs a ticket. Of course, they're free. We just didn't know. We were so mad about the entire situation, we laughed. What?! Does that even make sense?  So, with this new found information, we ended up on this field in Central Park. We had this small speaker and we used it for our music. We listened to all our faves. We posed for pictures. We sang. We danced. We had a good time. That's all that really matters. In the end, no moment was wasted. We didn't get to see Ed live. I still haven't watched any videos of the performance. All I know is that we took a not-so-good situation and made it better. Remember: Carpe diem. Seize the day. Never let it get away from you. All the love. Darianne xx P.S. I still wish I could've seen him live. That's be a dream.

Of Mice & Men

On Wednesday, I had an opportunity I never thought I would have. I got to see Of Mice & Men, Crown the Empire, and Volumes live. It was one of the greatest nights of my life. Wednesday was supposed to be a lazy day. I was supposed to sit at home and enjoy some me time. That was the plan and I was definitely enjoying myself. Then out of nowhere I get a message from a friend asking me if I wanted to see Of Mice & Men live. I thought it was a joke. Honestly, I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out with those a bunch of cameras. It never happened. My friend told me that she had an extra ticket. I told her that I'd be there. I rushed to get ready, hopped on the train, and nearly fell face first while I was running to find her on the line. Yes, I ran. They were already letting people in. Soon after, we were finally in. We're excited about it. Everyone is buzzing off the floor and ceiling. We give our stuff to coat check and make a bee line for the stage. If you've ever been to the Buy Theatre located in Times Square, then you know how the space is set up. There's the stage. This show was general admission. So, the floor was clear. Then there's a balcony right behind the floor that rises a few feet up. Lastly, there's the actual seats for people to sit in (parents and anyone who doesn't want to be there).

We knew that there would be mosh pits. So, we decided on te balcony. We were lucky enough to be directly in front of the balcony. The view was amazing.  Volumes start the show and I must say that I was impressed. I didn't know who they were. Still I cheered and if I remembered the chorus, I'd sing along with them. Next up was Crown the Empire. THEY ARE AMAZING. I only knew a few of their songs. Still watching the perform was such an amazing experience. I head bangged to everything and I learned some knew songs. I couldn't have asked for a better opening act.
Finally, OF MICE & MEN take the stage. Seriously, Austin Carlile is seriously adorable in person. From "Broken Generation" to "Bones Exposed", I sang my heart out. Everyone turnt up when "O.G. Loko" played. There was mosh pit after mosh pit. A guy got hit in the face and wanted to brawl, but the crowd separated them and later the two guys parties together. People put their lighten the air for some songs. We crouched down and jumped in mid air as a crowd. It all worked. We were in sync. I've never been to show that made me feel alive in this kind of way. I didn't want it to end. When they sang "Second & Sebring", I teared up. I love that song. Yes, I get emotional at shows. They're a cheaper version of Dr. Phil and they're more fun.
When the show ended, I was sad. Then everyone in the crowd started shouting "One more song!" Yes, they graced us with an encore of that consisted of two songs: "The Depths" and "You're Not Alone". My fangirl of heart couldn't take all this excitement. I swear I thought I was in heaven with all the fun I was having. So, I'd like to give a shoutout to my friend for thinking of me when you had an extra ticket. May 13, 2015 will be a night that I will never forget.

  All the love, xx
