Lost In A New City

A friend and I were trying to make our way to the Historic District from where our hotel was. We were confused for a whole. So, of course, while she was trying to figure out where we were and how to get to where we wanted to, I was busy twirling around and taking photos.
I was just reminiscing on the fun that I had in Philly during the summer. The architecture is amazing. I can’t wait to visit again.
All the love. xx

Just Me

One thing I realized when I reached adult hood was that I had to see the world my way. I had to do things my way. I had to learn to compromise, but never give up what I want for absolutely anything. Of course, there are people along for the ride. I’ve heard that no one is truly alone. It depends how you look through the lens.

I see the world in color and sometimes the colors fade. It’s just life. I’ve never met anyone who was so optimistic to the point that they never had a grey area. We’ve all been there. I myself have been there. It’s part of being human.
I like to document things. Black and white photos are my favorite. It’s more than that. When I look at a photo, I want to envision a story. I also keep a journal. It’s very therapeutic. When I write it out, I want to be able to remember what I felt. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Sometimes I create new playlists and name them accordingly. Therefore, I knew what was going through my head when I made it. I have a playlist called “4:34 a.m.” and another playlist called “Everything’s Embarrassing.” The first one is basically filled with a bunch of songs to put me to sleep. The second one is about things that make me me.
I am the type of person who will walk up to a stranger and say, “Have you heard the new…?” I love music. People have their playlist for a season. I’m lucky if it doesn’t change from week to week because of a new song that has become my favorite. I love bands. I may have said this before, but it’s true. I don’t know everything. So, I always appreciate when someone recommends something.
I also love clothes. I usually wear black. I love black. I wear band t-shirts, t-shirts (mostly v-necks), blouses, skinny jeans, flannel, heels, Vans, a few dresses, and beanies. I dress to match my mood. Everyone’s got their own style. I’ve just generalized mine. My clothing isn’t over the top, but it’s me. My clothes always match my mood. Always.
Something else I like is hair dye. I’ve always wanted to dye my hair, but I was always scared that it would fall out. I’m going to take the chance and try a red ombre. My natural dark brown hair on top and let it fade to red. I’d love to try that.

I’ve always had different ways of making sense of myself. While I’m just sat here, I’m thinking about what’s next. Do I go out for dinner? Do I make a home cooked meal? Maybe I’ll create a bunch of outfits to wear. Maybe I’ll go on YouTube and laugh or maybe go on tumblr. Who knows?
Right now it’s a new year and I am evolving each day. I’m finding something new everyday and I’m enjoying myself. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Live life the way you want to. The rest of the world doesn’t matter.
Be young. Be dope. Be proud.
All the love. xx

Post Concert Depression

This was the second day in Philadelphia. It was a great day. It was nice and sunny. It was August. Sadly, it was the day after the concert. I wish that day didn’t have to end. It was such an amazing experience. I’ve never been to a show that big before. EVER. So, instead of pouting, my friend and I decided to explore the city of Philadelphia. We found a lot of cool things. I even took a picture with the Liberty Bell. Even though we were sad that the concert was over and a bit jealous of those who were going to see the show later on in the same venue that we did, we made the most of our trip. It is truly a memory I will never forget.
Now, I’m looking forward to seeing the 1975. It will be my first time ever seeing them. I’m so excited! December 2, 2014. The day I get to see one of my favorite bands live. Expect tears, dancing and singing. It’s going to be great!
All the love.

Living It Up

I’ve always been a bit of a loner, but just like most girls, I’ve got my best friends. We are all obsessed with the same things: music, fashion, boy, boys who like bands and boys who are in a band. Who wouldn’t be?
So, in the past year, I decided that I needed to be more social. I am always the loudest in the group. I crack jokes and try to show my friends a good time. My problem wasn’t that I wasn’t interacting enough. My problem was that I was rarely going out or doing anything.
My point is that my friends and I decided that we were going to start doing something new. We needed something to look forward to. We hate our jobs. We’ve explored this city to the max. We are at our prime and we all just needed something that we could talk to our kids and grandchildren about.
About sixty one days ago, we camped out to see 5 Seconds of Summer live at the Today Show. My ass was bruised. I was beyond cranky by the time the boys showed up. Everyone was pissed off because at one point we all thought no one was getting in. Yes, we got in. It took long enough. I lost my voice and almost passed out at the deli across the street after the show.
About thirty nine days ago, I visited Philadelphia for the first time. A friend and I got tickets to go see One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer (again) live. I didn’t sleep the night before. I was at the bus terminal to leave for Philly at six in the morning. We arrived at our hotel and luckily the room was ready for us. We got so close to meeting Ashton Irwin at this Cheesesteak place.
We get to the show and everyone is excited. The commercial for One Direction’s new perfume is shown. All you could hear was thousands of screaming girls cheering on the commercial. The show was sold out. Who wouldn’t be a bit hyped?
Anyways, 5sos starts the show and everyone is freaking out and singing along. There’s a debate between Pat’s and Geno’s cheesesteaks. Geno’s won (which reminds me that the next time I and/or we go back, we’re going to Geno’s). They were amazing that night. They all did the “thing” that makes us scream like crazy people. Mikey went all screamo on stage. Luke voice squeaked. Calum bass line was everything and Ashton’s drumming is already making history. Yeah! That happened.
Finally, it was One Direction’s time to perform. The entire show was mesmerizing. Harry screaming, ‘Long hair. Don’t care’ on stage and Liam dancing to Michael Jackson. Louis and Niall cracked jokes and Zayn didn’t say much, but he shined like the top of the Empire State Building. They all did.
By the end of the night, I had lost my voice (again). I was already having PCD (Post Concert Depression). I thought that I had imagined the whole thing (I have a really vivid imagination). I was half asleep and hungry. I was also excited, but sad to see that it was over.
By the time we made it back to the hotel, we had an order from IHOP to devour. I told my friend that we should stay awake and party some more. We fell asleep within an hour eating.
For me, this is a night I will never forget. I saw two of my favorite bands live all at once. I got to visit an amazing city and this was my first trip as an adult and being on my own. I guess it’s true. There really is something about being twenty.

City of Magic

I was born and raised in the Big Apple. Being from a city so big, often means that I forget that I live in the center of magic. There’s so much to do here and sometimes I loose sight of all of that.
Today was just like any other day for me. I did my morning routine and left my apartment. I’m naturally curious. So, of course, when I see people huddled in a crowd and enjoying each others company, I gravitate towards them.

It’s always inspiring to see people of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds come together to have a good time. People were showing what they have to offer and bystanders were applauding in awe. How would you or anyone feel if they were being cheered on by strangers? Each day I try to find the magic in this city and each day I’m still amaze by this city and the world.
All the love.
